It has been five years since the seed has taken place in our hearts to produce a book, to preserve the stories of the grassroots members of the elderly who are acquainted with us, and to salute every one of them who have heartily lived an ordinary life. At the onset, these members are all common citizens, yet as the days passed by, their endurance, perseverance, as well as the stories that they bear touched us. There is too much that we want to grasp onto, yet time beat us to it, and in the process of the production, a few aged ones, originally intended to be recorded down, left us respectively. At the end, photographers, writers as well as social workers who have participated in the event are on edge, feeling that they are competing with time, in order to capture the present which will slip into the past in just a second. Although it is not the complete picture which we now present in front of you, but what we can eventually salvage with cameras and nibs, and we hope that these will form the bridges and doors to your meeting with this crowd of elderly people.
